We're home, We're home!

YIPPEE!!!!!!!!!!

We're such cosmopolitan travelers. Last night we had dinner in Nashville; today we breakfasted in Birmingham and lunched in Atlanta.

Too bad it was all drive through!!!

We decided to get off the road early last night, to let the crazies do their thing on New Year's Eve. Amelia and I went to bed early, and we were up at 3 am and on the road by 4. I have discovered it's the best time of the year to be driving - everyone is either still asleep or just finally passed out and no one is on the road.

Amelia was such a trooper on this trip. She played with her sewing dolls, her coloring books, her "kwishy piggy" (squishy piggy), flash cards, loveys, hats and lots and lots of books. Two days of driving home, over 20 hours on the road all together, and I only had to whip out the DVD player during the final two hours of the trip.

Unfortunately for her, I had forgotten how many juice boxes I gave her on this trip. You can guess the end results if you're a mom, and if not, I'll leave it to your imagination. :( Poor thing. I'm a bad mom.

Best of all, my husband called to check on me when we were about 2 hours from home! He said he couldn't sleep and was wondering if we were home yet, so he called to check. He couldn't stay on the phone long but it was so nice to hear his voice to start out my new year. I LOVE
